People's Climate March
The People's Climate March was the biggest climate march ever seen in history, and I was a part of it! I planned to go when my school had explained the premise of it, and although I was a little nervous, I was also super excited! Every cause has had a huge demonstration in the streets, and I was ready to march for something that is important to me: the future of our world. When I arrived, the air was buzzing with energy, and people everywhere were holding signs that ranged from a couple of scribbles made by a kid, to murals and beautifully worded posters. I headed towards central park west, where I knew the march was starting, and was surprised by the amount of people there. I knew there were many people coming from out of town, but I saw people from ALL over, California to Ithaca, New York. This march meant a chance to stand up and do something about the way we are treating our world. It really felt like I was making a difference, which means something to a girl who is constantly told that her generation is the one that has to fix everything.
The coolest costume I remember seeing, a giant polar bear, being led through the crowd by a man handing out cardboard, hand made birds.
One of my favorite signs.
The moment of silence.
Queen Elsa in her carriage of herbs with turtle. (Can't get much better than this)
