Guadeloupe

Alright, this post is too short and  long overdue, but I hope it will kinda-sorta make up for my lack of activity on this blog as of late. I went to Guadeloupe a little while back, and I thought I would share a handful of pictures I have from my trip. The entire world I experienced while I was there was equally serene and vibrant, which I tried to convey in these pictures.

This is one of the breakfasts we ate while we were away, and I just loved the colors.

Who could beat this view? There was a full moon one night, and even though it was a little chilly I couldn't help going for a midnight swim. It was so QUIET, which is something I never get while living in the city. Often in my life I get sucked into the internet, and in that moment I felt like things were more real than they had been in a while.

I never get to read as much as I want to, and the reading in Guadeloupe was fantastic. I finished The Folded Clock by Hedi Julavitis in Guadeloupe while shielding my face from the sun. This book is, essentially, someone else's really well-written journal (who wouldn't want to read that?). It chronicles a year (I think) in the life of Julavitis, a mother, wife, and writer. I thought it was a really interesting way to explore how to tell a story/what a story is. If you are interested in short, poignant vignettes, I highly recommend it.

This is a picture of the delicious coconut ice cream that vendors would make on the beach by churning the ingredients for you in front of your eyes. Super yummy.

I will never get over the sky.

Hopefully, I will be posting more content more often! Meanwhile, check out this article I wrote about (you guessed it) Hamilton, which was published by the West Side Spirit!
