Sorry I was out, I've been collaging
Hello, World! It's been a while. I can't remember the last time that I wrote a hodgepodge post about what was up in my life. I've been vegging out a little bit because my university process is FINALLY OVER, and I have only one week left before I am officially free from HIGH SCHOOL. One of the things I've been doing is trying to organize my goals for the future. I feel like a lot of high school has been focused on EXCELLING with no room to be creative, and now I finally get the chance to "do me" and it's terrifying and terrific. I had some ideas for collages for a while, and in my spare time, I've been doing them. During the college process, I got SO MUCH MAIL that's I had a huge bin full of fancy booklets full of facts and figures and beautiful campuses. All I wanted to do was cut them up, and last weekend I finally tossed most of them and created 1.5 collages.
I used only uni pamphlets for this one, and I was trying to emphasize the intersection between the opportunity that university awards and the stress and monotony of the whole process. It was SUPER satisfying to cut through all that fancy paper.
The other (half) collage I made was focused on my future, and it became kind of a vision board about who I want to become through trial and error in college. I've felt kind of stagnant lately because I have nothing assigned to me anymore. I thought that my physically creating what I strive towards, I would be able to make myself move closer to my goals.
Speaking of collaging: I had an assignment to create a production/directors notebook based on a play of my choice and I was really proud of the outcome. I am getting more and more interested in the way different people format notebooks/journals, because I think it shows the way that people think creatively, and I thought I would share the way my creative brain works.
