London Journal (Days 4-7)
DAY 4
Today we woke up and had toast and tea in the garden because it was super warm out. After TV went to the V&A museum with Cecilia's aunt, and her cousin Giulia. The V&A is a gorgeous museum all about design and so I felt really excited to go. We mostly looked at the fashion exhibits: Cecilia's aunt took us to an underwear exhibit which showed the way women and men wore underwear throughout the ages.
After a while we got hungry so Giulia, Cecilia and I went to go get lunch. We bought bubble tea and salads from this place called Leon. Leon is essentially a fast food restaurant but with healthy food: I loved it. We went to sit in Kensington Gardens while we ate. After we finished our lunch we decided to rent bikes and go riding around Kensington Gardens in search of the Peter Pan statue. I've been wanting to see the statue for almost my whole life because I've loved the story of Peter Pan since I was a kid. We saw the statue, and we also saw a beautiful and serene memorial for Princess Diana, a bunch of cool sculptures, and many swans. The weather was perfect for a bike riding and even though I was wearing a short dress I had tons of fun whispering songs to the girls and riding all around.
DAY 5
Today we woke up late. I was angry because I slept through my alarm and I was supposed to meet a friend of mine, Libby, who lives in Bristol and came up for the day to see me. We readjusted our plans and I put on my new fancy floral dress and we went to Dennis Severs' House.
If you have one day in London, you MUST, And I repeat MUST go to Dennis Severs' House. It is a still life drama where you get to walk through the lives/rooms of people throughout the centuries. It was created to invoke the feeling of being transported to another time. They pipe in smells and sounds, and there was even a black cat wandering around! I felt very cool in my floral dress and I was in awe of the whole experience. (No pictures allowed.) Afterwards, we went in search of Wi-Fi and we found it at a cute fish and chips place called Poppies. We ordered mushy peas and french fries and got in touch with Libby. We met up with her to get coffee and chat it was super nice to see her and also crazy after all of our emailing to finally be in touch in person.

Then Giulia, Cecilia and I went to high tea at Sketch which is a beautiful tea place that serves fancy food along with an artistic experience. We ate until we almost barfed, went home, drank wine and fell asleep.
DAY 6
Today we woke up and headed out after eating some cereal. First, we went to the Sherlock museum which was kind of disappointing when compared to the Dennis Severs' House. We still had fun taking goofy pictures, and afterwards, we went into the Beatles store and bought stuff for me and my friends. Next, we got lunch at wasabi which is an Asian food chain that doesn't exist in the states. (at least I don't think it does?)
After we ate we headed to Kings Cross we took a ton of pictures at 9 3/4 and I bought earrings, a scrunchie, and a hat (all of them Hufflepuff seemed). Then we went to Westminster Abby to bop around, but the line was too long so we ended up laughing hysterically near Big Ben. Cecilia spotted a building that she thought was the parliament building but when we get closer we saw that it said "Shrek's Adventure". You should have SEEN me. I was so excited. I bought a mug and a stuffed Shrek doll. After that, we went to Sainsbury's so we could cook pork, rice and lettuce wraps for our hosts. It turned out really well and we made Earl Grey cake for dessert.

DAY 7
Today is our last full day in London so we tried to wake up early. We took the tube to the Museum of London which was like a Natural History Museum mixed with a design museum. It explained both the ecological and cultural history of London. There were also tons of videos to sit and watch, which we loved. For lunch, we ate at Nando's because we wanted to see what all the fuss was about. It was tasty but it gave me a bit of a stomachache. Then we went to St. Paul's Cathedral and convinced the guy at the desk to give us child-age tickets. We walked around for a bit and I lit candles. Then I realized we could climb to the top, so I dragged Cecilia up. She went up two levels with me but she didn't want to go up to the third one, so I did it myself. The view was beautiful albeit a bit gloomy. When I got down we headed to the Globe Theatre to see Macbeth. We were so close to the stage that we could touch it! At first, it was a little bit slow but by the end, Cece and I were both enraptured. I didn't understand all of it because I've never read Mcacbeth, but I LOVED it. After the show, we went back to the Mexican restaurant where we drank/ate on our fourth day and ate a burrito in the rain. We walked to the train, letting ourselves get soaked by the water. It was one of those good movie moments.
